Russia’s first AI-powered humanoid robot, Aldol, made a dramatic entrance at a Moscow unveiling—only to faceplant moments after stepping on stage to the triumphant strains of the Rocky theme. The event, hosted by the New Technology Coalition, quickly turned chaotic as assistants rushed in and a curtain dropped to conceal the toppled bot. Despite the mishap, AIdol CEO Vladimir Vitukhin attributed the fall to lighting and calibration issues, calling it a learning moment. Aldol boasts 19 servomotors, expressive silicone skin, and mostly Russian-made components. But for now, Russia’s robot revolution seems to be off to a wobbly start.
