Adidas Originals is jumping into puddles of color in a charming interpretation of its classic Campus 80 by multidisciplinary Los Angeles artist Cali DeWitt.
The Campus 80s Cali DeWitt Originals, marking the second tie-in between the pair, sees the beloved silhouette in a dipped execution, imagining it as though it were ankle-deep in paint.

The illusion is helped by the contrasting textures between the sneaker’s suede and the shiny TPU film that wraps around it.

The kicks arrive in three enticing colorways—‘Collegiate Navy’ is submerged in light green, ‘Collegiate Burgundy’ dances with light pink, while ‘Gray’ is dipped in white “paint.”

In another homage to DeWitt’s style, the shoe’s heel is finished with a Gothic rendition of the Adidas wordmark, while its tongue and insole are etched with his signature.

Despite more than dipping its toe in the world of street art, the style continues to “breathe creativity into every step,” as described by Adidas, with an accompanying Gothic font stencil that allows wearers to brush their personalities onto their walkable murals. The set also comes with interchangeable laces of white, red, and black.

The painterly sneaker will be available for purchase on the Adidas website on September 28 for US$128.
