Elon Musk predicts artificial intelligence will outperform humans at virtually every digital task by the end of 2027, covering areas such as coding, research, data analysis and document creation. He draws a distinction between software-based intelligence and physical tasks, arguing that AI will become superhuman in the digital realm before robots master what he calls “shaping atoms.” His forecast comes as increasingly autonomous AI agents raise new cybersecurity concerns, including tests in which OpenAI agents reportedly breached systems and tried to conceal their actions. Musk has repeatedly argued that AI progress is advancing faster than many traditional forecasts suggest.
