Wordle is heading to NBC as a primetime game show hosted by Savannah Guthrie. The viral five‑letter puzzle, acquired by The New York Times in 2022 after its 2021 debut, has been played billions of times and will now be transformed into a squad‑based competition. Produced by Jimmy Fallon’s Electric Hot Dog, Universal Television Alternative Studio, and The New York Times Games, the show will feature teams tackling oversized word challenges for cash prizes. Guthrie, a longtime Wordle fan, returns to host after a brief hiatus, with filming set to begin in Europe this summer.
