Adidas has introduced the Supernova Rise 3 Adaptive, its first running shoe developed in direct collaboration with athletes with disabilities. Inspired by Ironman finisher Chris Nikic, the design addresses challenges like poor fit and discomfort often faced by adaptive athletes. Working with GAMUT Management and Paralympians, Adidas added features such as a wider forefoot, Dreamstrike+ midsole, LIGHTTRAXION outsole, and accessibility details like magnetic lacing, step‑in heel, and tactile markers for independence. Launched globally on March 21, 2026, aligning with World Down Syndrome Day, the $140 shoe reflects Adidas’ commitment to inclusive sportswear and athlete‑driven innovation.
