Three Tennessee teenagers have filed a federal lawsuit against Elon Musk’s xAI, alleging its Grok chatbot was used to generate sexualized deepfake images of them that later spread across Discord, Telegram, and file‑sharing platforms. The complaint claims xAI “knowingly designed” Grok without adequate safeguards, enabling the creation of child sexual abuse material and allowing third‑party apps to exploit its underlying technology. Investigators previously linked a December 2025 arrest to Grok‑generated explicit images, intensifying scrutiny. Watchdog groups had already warned that Grok could be misused to produce harmful imagery. The teens seek class‑action status, damages, and stronger AI safety controls.
