OpenAI has launched the ChatGPT App Store, enabling apps to function directly within conversations. Instead of switching between interfaces, users can access services like Apple Music, DoorDash, Instacart, Target, Walmart, Canva, Figma, and Adobe seamlessly in chat. The rollout is powered by the Apps SDK and Model Context Protocol, allowing third‑party integrations. Early examples include playlist creation, food and grocery ordering, product browsing, and creative tools such as Photoshop, Adobe Express, and Acrobat. While discovery and usability still face challenges, the App Store signals a shift toward conversational commerce, reshaping how software is designed, accessed, and experienced.
