Steam Machine Returns: Valve’s Console-PC Hybrid Targets Living Room Gaming

by rrollins, November 14, 2025

Valve has reintroduced the Steam Machine, a compact console-PC hybrid designed for living room gaming. Powered by a six-core AMD Zen 4 CPU and RDNA 3 graphics, it delivers over six times the performance of the Steam Deck. Running SteamOS 3 with Proton compatibility, it supports Windows games without switching operating systems. The new model joins Valve’s hardware lineup alongside the Steam Frame and redesigned Steam Controller. With broad connectivity, modding support, and a focus on airflow, it targets console-grade performance in a compact form. Pricing is unannounced, but Valve hints it will align with similarly specced PCs.
