DC Comics has cancelled its newly launched Red Hood comic book series shortly after release. The decision came following viral social media comments by writer Gretchen Felker‑Martin about the shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Kirk, 31, a staunch supporter of gun rights and known for his hardline views and vocal opposition to trans rights, was shot and killed while speaking at Utah Valley University. The series, a Batman spinoff centred on Jason Todd’s Red Hood, had only just debuted. DC has not issued a detailed public explanation for the cancellation beyond confirming the series will not continue.
