Major League Baseball is celebrating 12 Japanese players with custom-designed manhole covers across Japan. Each cover, created by different artists, reflects the player’s style and career journey, installed in locations tied to their baseball roots. Shohei Ohtani, Yu Darvish, and Seiya Suzuki are among those honored. The campaign merges sports, urban art, and digital storytelling, with augmented reality (AR) features allowing fans to scan covers for exclusive content. MLB has also partnered with Japan Airlines to enhance visitor experiences. This initiative highlights Japan’s baseball legacy, turning city streets into interactive tributes to its MLB stars.
