Apple has officially announced that macOS 26 Tahoe will be the final major update for Intel-based Macs, marking the end of an era. The update will support only four remaining Intel models, while all others will be phased out. Security updates will continue until 2028, but future macOS versions will be exclusive to Apple Silicon. Apple is also beginning the phaseout of Rosetta 2, urging developers to transition their apps. With this shift, Intel Mac users may need to consider upgrading as Apple fully embraces its Silicon-powered future.
