Garmin introduced a rather heart-pounding invention at CES 2024—a novel heart rate monitor crafted with the comfort and needs of women athletes in mind. With the new HRM-Fit, athletes can now say goodbye to the days of awkward chest straps and hello to a world where their sports bra not only supports them but also smartly keeps tabs on their ticker.

Thoughtfully designed to enhance the workout experience for women, the HRM-Fit is adaptable to medium- and high-support sports bras, with the primary aim of delivering comfort without compromising the accuracy of essential training data like heart rate. This feature makes it a versatile companion for a variety of physical activities, including running, cycling, strength training, and high-intensity interval training (HIIT).

This innovative device breaks away from the typically unsupportive chest strap design, instead opting for a user-friendly clip-on style that fastens securely onto sports bras for a snug fit and accurate data capture during workouts.

Not only does the HRM-Fit record heart rate data, but it also gathers advanced running dynamics, such as cadence and stride length, and even steps when not paired with a fitness tracker. This level of detail makes it a valuable tool for athletes seeking to optimize their training and performance.

The HRM-Fit boasts compatibility with a wide range of devices. It seamlessly connects with Garmin smartwatches and Edge cycling head units, as well as compatible fitness gear and the Tacx Training app. This interoperability is facilitated through ANT+ and Bluetooth LE connections, enhancing the device’s usability.

Built for long-term use, the HRM-Fit is equipped with a battery that lasts up to a year with daily one-hour usage. It operates on a single CR2032 watch battery and is engineered with a 3ATM water resistance rating, making it resilient against sweat and rain.

This latest offering addresses the specific needs of women athletes who have long sought practical and comfortable heart rate monitoring solutions. It keeps a close eye on every beat while you overcome your personal bests.

The HRM-Fit is currently available for purchase at a retail price of US$149.99 on Garmin’s website.
