The World Design Rankings are a prominent source of inspiration and aspiration for designers across all disciplines, shining a spotlight on countries and regions that lead the way in creative excellence.
Nations are ranked according to the number of A’ Design Awards—a precious accolade in the design world—won by their respective entrants in more than 100 fields, ranging from architectural marvels to the most avant-garde industrial designs. The World Design Rankings thus become a map, guiding us through the geography of creativity, from the soaring creativity of Italy to the meticulous innovations of Japan.
In the 2022–2023 round, China claimed the top spot among 114 participating countries and territories, with the USA, Japan, Italy, Hong Kong, Great Britain hot on its heels.
These laureates bring with them stories of triumph and a renewed appreciation for the power of design to transform spaces, communities, and experiences. Exceptional design makes the world go round.
