The Louvre Gets Its Crown Sprayed With Paint By Climate Protesters

For a short while, the Louvre was not receiving love in the city of romance. 

On October 27, climate activists from a French group called Dernière Rénovation took to the famous Parisian glass monument in a drastic call for action.

As one protester climbed the pyramid using climbing equipment and sprayed its pinnacle with orange paint, others threw balloons at the architecture.

Dernière Rénovation warns on its website that humanity has a mere “513 days left” until it faces dire consequences, alluding to the predicted peak in carbon emissions in 2025.

No permanent damage has been reported, and the museum continued to serve visitors throughout the entire demonstration. According to the Telegraph, however, a dozen participants were arrested.
