Crafted by Dan Thorne, a product designer at The Royal Mint, this coin received personal approval from the King himself. The artwork blends traditional heraldic elements with subtle nods to his deep-rooted affinity for nature and pursuits in protecting the planet, with the centerpiece featuring The King’s heraldic badge accompanied by the number 75, signifying his milestone birthday.
Oak leaves, symbolizing strength, morale, resilience, and wisdom, envelop his favorite garden flowers, the delphiniums, which mirror his connection to nature. The precious-metal editions of this coin bear a poignant edge inscription, “RESTORING HARMONY WITH NATURE.”
Thorne elaborates, “The ‘75’ was hand-drawn and modeled to simulate a stone-cut effect, in reference to The King’s ongoing support of the world of craft.”
