Meta has expanded its experimental Pocket app to U.S. users after testing it in Brazil. Pocket uses Meta’s Muse Spark model to turn natural-language prompts into small interactive games called “gizmos,” which can respond to taps, swipes, movement, sounds, photos and camera input. Users can play, share and remix creations through a social-style feed without writing code or using a traditional game engine. Pocket builds on Meta’s acquisition of the team behind Gizmo and joins several experimental standalone apps from the company. Meta currently has no announced plans to integrate Pocket with Instagram or its other major social platforms.
