Twitch Is Quietly Using Streamer Content To Train Amazon’s AI By Default

by rrollins, August 14, 2026

Twitch has introduced a setting that allows streams, VODs, clips, chat logs, and channel images to be used for training Amazon’s generative AI models. The option is enabled by default, meaning creators must manually switch it off if they do not want future channel content included. Disabling it does not affect Twitch features such as AutoMod or automated captions. The change follows earlier experiments involving Twitch content and Amazon AI development. Its opt-out approach has raised questions about consent, creator control, and how platforms handle user-generated material. Streamers can currently disable the setting through Twitch’s security settings page.
