Mark Zuckerberg has laid out his vision for widely distributed “personal superintelligence” in a roughly 6,500-word Meta manifesto titled ‘The Future Is for Everyone.’ He argues that putting advanced AI in more people’s hands could encourage invention, expand opportunity and prevent power from becoming too concentrated. Meta backed the message with Muse Glimmer, a new 30-billion-parameter open-weight AI model designed to run locally on consumer hardware and handle agentic tasks. The proposal has also drawn skepticism over jobs, privacy and whether Meta’s optimistic vision adequately addresses the risks that could accompany powerful AI becoming much more widely available.
