A24 has released the first trailer for Tony, its biopic on Anthony Bourdain, starring Dominic Sessa as the 19‑year‑old chef in Provincetown, Massachusetts. Directed by Matt Johnson, the film explores Bourdain’s early kitchen years in 1975, where long shifts, clashing personalities, and restless ambition shaped his worldview. Rather than retelling his entire life, Tony builds on fragments from Kitchen Confidential, imagining who Bourdain was before fame. Sessa prepared by immersing himself in Cape Cod’s seafood culture, while the ensemble includes Antonio Banderas and Emilia Jones. Backed by Bourdain’s estate, the film is set for release in August 2026.
