X has introduced a new rule requiring creators to label AI-generated videos depicting armed conflict. The policy, announced by head of product Nikita Bier, ties disclosure directly to monetization: first-time violators lose access to the Creator Revenue Sharing Program for 90 days, while repeat offenders face permanent suspension. The company stressed that authentic reporting is critical during wartime, as synthetic visuals can mislead audiences and blur fact with fabrication. While creators can still post AI war footage, transparency is mandatory to earn revenue. Critics note the rule’s narrow scope, but supporters see it as a vital step against wartime disinformation.
