Following the U.S. raid that led to the arrest of Nicolás Maduro, Venezuela faced widespread internet and power outages. In response, Elon Musk’s Starlink activated free satellite internet access across the country until February 3, 2026. The move applied to both active and inactive accounts, offering a vital lifeline during a period of political instability. Although Venezuela is not officially launched on Starlink’s map, many users had been connecting via roaming. Musk confirmed the initiative was “in support of the people of Venezuela,” echoing Starlink’s role in other crisis zones like Ukraine.
