Cambridge Dictionary has added over 6,000 new words, reflecting the influence of Gen Z and Gen Alpha on modern English. Among the most talked-about entries are ‘skibidi’, a gibberish term from the viral Skibidi Toilet series; ‘delulu’, shorthand for delusional thinking often used humorously; and ‘tradwife’, describing women who embrace traditional domestic roles on social media. These additions highlight how internet culture, memes, and influencer trends are reshaping language. Lexical manager Colin McIntosh emphasized that only words with staying power are included, showing how digital life continues to evolve the way we speak and write.
