Dave Franco and Alison Brie are facing a copyright lawsuit over their film Together, with StudioFest accusing them of idea theft from the 2023 indie Better Half. The lawsuit claims Franco and Brie were pitched the concept in 2020, rejected it, and later produced a film with strikingly similar themes, plot points, and scenes. StudioFest alleges the couple worked with WME to repackage the idea. Despite the controversy, Together was acquired for $17 million at Sundance and is set for an August 1 release, though the lawsuit raises concerns about creative integrity in Hollywood.
