Meta has agreed to pay $25 million to settle a lawsuit filed by President Donald Trump over the suspension of his Facebook and Instagram accounts following the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot. The settlement includes $22 million for Trump’s future presidential library and $3 million for legal fees and other plaintiffs. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has made efforts to repair ties with Trump, including attending his inauguration and making policy changes within the company. The settlement does not require Meta to admit any wrongdoing.
