Ho, ho, who’s up there? Manchester’s early morning shoppers were in for a whimsical treat as they stumbled upon a giant sleigh parking space atop a local Aldi store. In a festive gesture that has sparked joy and surprise, the UK retailer has added a touch of holiday magic, transforming its Knutsford store’s rooftop into a designated landing zone for Santa Claus and his nine reindeer.

This enchanting installation features a sleigh-shaped marking, spacious enough to accommodate all members of Santa’s legendary team—Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and, of course, Rudolph.
Measuring 11 meters (36 feet) in length and six meters (nine feet) in width, the parking space is painted in vibrant yellow, ensuring Santa can easily spot his reserved spot from high above, even in the dark of night, during this busy period.

The delightful surprise was first shared by a local shopper, Jen, who posted a picture of the rooftop wonder on the Aldi Shoppers UK Facebook Page. “Just spotted this at the Aldi Knutsford store, such a nice surprise when taking the kids shopping—they loved it!” Jen exclaimed.

Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK, explained the idea behind this unique installation. “While our middle aisle is known for surprises, this rooftop revelation was specifically crafted for Santa’s visit, aiming to bring delight to our shoppers throughout the festive season.”
