McDonald’s irreplaceable Chicken McNuggets have been around for 40 years, and while their recipe is pretty much perfected, they still leave a little to be desired. That little amount is quantifiable, it seems.
Sometimes, you just need one extra nugget to feel totally satisfied. Or, on the off-chance you’re sharing a box with a friend, you might be hit with the guilt of fighting for the last piece with them.
Well, McDonald’s Switzerland is changing the game by offering customers the chance to order a single Chicken McNugget, in celebration of the beloved menu item’s 40th anniversary. The campaign, cooked up with advertising agency TBWA Switzerland, pokes fun at math nerds who have dissected the company’s formula to find out why four, six, nine, and 20 are the golden numbers for nuggets. It’s a real phenomenon dubbed the ‘Chicken McNugget Theorem’.

The single-pack is all about promoting the joy of sharing. It’s a playful response to those who’ve ever felt shortchanged in a six-pack of nuggets or have had to negotiate the delicate politics of who gets the last piece.
With this campaign, McDonald’s ensures that everyone can have precisely the number of nuggets they desire, making it a fair game for all at the dining table.

For just 1.20 Swiss francs (US$1.37) per nugget, customers can now buy as many or as few as they want, compared to the regular box of four priced at 4.80 Swiss francs (US$5.49).
Available for a limited time, this unique offering is sure to bring smiles and a new way to enjoy a beloved fast-food staple.
