Toyota is making waves at the Japan Mobility Show by unveiling an electric concept based on its Land Cruiser model. The Land Cruiser Se’s introduction indicates Toyota’s growing commitment to electrification in its product lineup.

This prototype introduces a fresh design approach, setting it apart from the most recent Land Cruiser model. While it maintains the familiar off-roader profile, it abandons the retro-inspired boxiness, opting for a more contemporary appearance. Sharp edges, a revamped front end, and sculpted side panels collectively present a modern and appealing reinterpretation of this iconic SUV.

In terms of size, the Land Cruiser Se outstrips the current Land Cruiser, measuring a generous 202.8 inches in length, with a wheelbase of 120.1 inches. Furthermore, it accommodates an extra row of seats, expanding the seating capacity to a total of eight occupants.

Although no interior visuals have been released, Toyota assures that the cabin would provide a comfortable and serene environment for passengers. As for the powertrain, specific details remain undisclosed, but it is widely anticipated to feature multiple motors enabling all-wheel drive capabilities.

Toyota is emphasizing the Land Cruiser Se’s prowess in handling rugged terrains, ensuring that it lives up to the reputation of its off-road heritage.

However, the question remains—will the Land Cruiser Se transition from a concept to a production model? Given Toyota’s ongoing efforts to expand its electric vehicle portfolio, this electrified Land Cruiser could well become a reality in the near future.
