This precious gaming mouse has been endowed by the Midas touch. Sadly, it’s not meant to click with everyone.

There’s only one such version of this Razer Viper Mini Signature Edition in the world, according to the gaming lifestyle brand’s CEO Min-Liang Tan, who shared some glorious images of the mouse in 24-karat gold.

The brilliant accessory is “insanely over-the-top and special,” Tan admits, but it’s also an “exclusive one-time commission.” It may as well be, because zapping away monsters with 24K gold in your grip won’t necessarily render a golden experience.

This is an incredibly exclusive one-time commission of a 24K gold @Razer Viper Signature Mini. We don’t have a list price to it because it’s just so insanely over the top and special. I just had to take a couple of quick pics of it but the images truly don’t do it justice. pic.twitter.com/VwIi8ZKXL2

24K gold is 100% gold, meaning it isn’t bolstered by the advantages of other metals to keep the composition sturdy and lightweight. That means the material is softer than ideal for a gaming mouse.

It might leave users dazzled by an unmistakable hue and sheen, but in terms of performance, it likely can’t compare with the original Razer Viper Mini Signature Edition, which is the brand’s lightest mouse ever. All things considered, the latter would be bang for your buck at US$230.

Weighing in at just 49 grams, this muse of a mouse is the result of well-thought-out material choices and weight refinements—with the most apparent being its lattice exterior. The mouse features a robust magnesium alloy chassis that not only outperforms plastic in terms of rigidity but also trumps titanium when it comes to lightweight construction. All this leaves “zero impact on performance,” with a true 8,000 Hz polling rate on this (mini) beast, which is touted by the company as “the best lightweight performance mouse ever created.”

No expenses were spared with the golden one-off, as its box was even crafted from luxurious nappa leather.

“I just had to take a couple of quick pics of it, but the images truly don’t do it justice,” Tan notes.
