20 years ago, American guitar manufacturer Martin Guitar and singer and guitarist John Mayer first came together for an acoustic guitar called the OM-28JM. In honor of the last two decades of their partnership, the duo are back for another collaboration.
First up is the limited-edition OM-45 John Mayer 20th Anniversary Guitar. The body, head, and bridge are adorned with a new platinum gray wood stain, accentuated by silver and aluminum borders. Mayer’s signature graces the head alongside satin nickel Waverly tuners. Notably, the nut width is now slightly thinner, reaching 1 11/16th in width and promising improved playability.

That said, the OM-45 is strumming up a grand total of US$18,499—probably not ideal for musicians starting their journey.
However, a slightly more wallet-friendly version, the OMJM John Mayer 20th Anniversary Guitar, comes with all the same platinum gray design cues as its sibling but without some of the finer detailing.

And this time, the OMJM is priced at US$3,999. According to the company, “it exhibits the same versatility for today’s diverse contemporary musical styles and includes a unique label with Mayer’s electronic signature.”
