Bang & Olufsen has partnered with Benjamin Hubert from London-based design agency LAYER to design the Beosound Emerge, a compact Wi-Fi home speaker that fits anywhere discreetly. Elegant, slim, and shaped like a book, it won’t look out of place anywhere in your home.

The audio device is designed to reach you everywhere in the room with its full-range, ultra-wide sound. As per TechSpot, B&O wanted to “create the slimmest speaker possible” without sacrificing sound quality, hence the book-like shape. The four-inch woofer produces omnidirectional low frequencies no matter where it is pointed, while the compact 1.45-inch mid-range driver and 0.6-inch tweeter are positioned at the top of the speaker for maximum impact.

For fans of heavier tunes, the Beosound Emerge also comes with an integrated bass port, resulting in a deeper and richer sound than expected for such a small speaker.

The Beosound Emerge is crafted using premium materials, as expected of a high-end audio brand. The luxe gold model is made from pearl-busted aluminum, natural oak, and seamlessly knitted textile from Kvadrat.

The intuitive user interface is integrated on the top of the speaker. Simply use the soft-touch buttons to access your favorite radio stations, search on Google, or stream via Spotify. You can even adjust the volume with a unique circling motion.

As with most mid- to high-end speakers, the Beosound Emerge comes with a virtual assistant. Just with voice commands, you’ll be able to play music, control volume, and find information about the track you are listening to, thanks to the built-in Google Assistant support.

The speaker is available in black and gold, with the latter being the more premium option. The black model will retail for US$699, with the gold model going for US$899. The speakers will launch worldwide this October.
